Art on Display

The creative process of painting takes place either outdoors (plein air) or indoors (studio)… Inspiration for my work usually comes from nature – perhaps a landscape or a unique travel destination. At times inspiration also comes from a particular colour, pattern or texture, which is then translated onto canvas or paper.

A finished painting is not complete without professional matting and framing. This is the packaging, an important and integral part of the finished product. Simple framing should enhance rather than detract from the artwork and is appropriate in most interior settings.

Sales depend on artwork being carefully displayed either in private galleries, commercial galleries or other public spaces where people gather. Outdoor venues can also be an appealing format during warmer weather.

I have displayed in many galleries and art shows, either by invitation or jury process. My paintings have adorned the walls of restaurants, wineries and even a greenhouse and have been displayed outdoors in park-like settings with jazz music filling the air.

My paintings are for the most part, abstractions of reality. They are perfectly at home in both traditional and contemporary settings, in private and commercial galleries, in large as well as small spaces.
