MEDITERRANEAN

I have travelled through the Mediterranean on several different occasions and particularly enjoyed Greece, Italy and Egypt which are reflected in this series of paintings. The unique colours and textures of the stuccoed buildings throughout Italy were awe inspiring… hillside villages looked like dabs of colour in the sunshine. The unique blue of Mediterranean waters and the quality of light was indeed very different from my North American experience. Travelling out into the Sahara Dessert left me overwhelmed with the vastness and uniqueness of this sandy, wind-swept tundra. Memories and the experience of these distant places, are filed in the far reaches of my soul, but the colour, texture and movement has been recorded with paint for the interpretation of the viewer.
