COASTAL I have had a life-long fascination with the ebb and flow of water and the shifting of sand. I grew up on the shores of Lake Huron, where I witnessed first hand the strength of nature… the fury of November gales, the massive ice banks in January and the constant movement of shifting sand. As an adult, I lived for a short time in the east Atlantic coast of Canada on Prince Edward Island. The movement of the tides, the unique red colour of the sand and the intense blueness of the ocean left a mark on my soul. Currently I live on the shores of Lake Ontario, where I am inspired daily by the constantly changing vista outside my door. I have completed many paintings that have been directly inspired by the respect I have for this coastal experience, this constant movement and change. |
